All set for the Emmy’s?

We hope so! Sunday, September 18th, the night of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, is only days away. If you don’t have tickets, then you’re watching at home, right? Going to a party, maybe?  You won’t want to miss this incredible gala event!

Not only for the show in front of the camera, but also for the cutting edge developments in the way we interact, watching the show. Add bold new talent behind the camera, and the Emmy’s are ready for their reboot as a signature 21st century viewing event.

So, why is Devious Media so excited for TV’s big night?

Well, we played a role in the Emmy’s new media revolution. One that we’re pretty psyched about. It’s all cool stuff that takes you backstage and on the red carpet  – all from your living room, headed to a party in the back seat of a taxi, or at a coffee shop relaxing – as the show unfolds, live.  Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? We think so!

For instance, our cohorts at TVplus developed an awesome iPad app that will offer live, in sync, content and information Sunday night on Fashion, Presenters, and Nominees. Devious Media brought TVplus to our friends at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, serving as their connection to facilitate this new, interactive venture.

Check out the app here at the iTunes store. It’s free! That’s incredible, considering that the TVplus app tunes-in to the audio of the broadcast, recognizes within seconds your iPad and syncs it to the exact moment within the Emmy telecast!  Once connected you’ll access content related to each moment of the awards show, including actor bios, fashion info, exclusive videos, red carpet photo galleries, award show trivia, behind the scenes news and much more!

Also, TVplus brings the whole social media-verse of activity around the Emmys telecast into one centralized environment, delivering up to the minute news and viewer reactions for every moment of the show. Just download the application on your iPad, tune-in to the Emmy Awards telecast and the app syncs automatically. (So cool!) To learn more about TVplus, please check them out on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. You won’t regret it.
Also, Devious Media created a killer iPhone app, with True Logic Software Solutions, that is the official app of the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. Designed and implemented for the first time this year, the app is loaded with content that will keep you connected as the Emmys unfold Sunday night. Check out the app here – it’s free!

This app not only looks beautiful; but with it you get additional info, photos and videos from this year’s telecast.

Track nominees through each award.  Take a look at what they’ve appeared in, and their bios. Or, get behind the scene details about the shows nominated. Get insight on their creators and key crew. Even watch clips of their work or clips of the shows nominated.

Plus, access information for every nominee and winner from the past 62 Emmy telecasts. Check out photos and video from other Television Academy events including the Emmy Nominations, Creative  Arts Awards, and Television Academy Honors Hall of Fame Ceremony.

Everything and anything that gives you a content  rich, interactive viewing experience like no other. That’s right – no more sitting and staring at the screen, wondering about this dress, or trying to remember that actor’s name, and where you’ve seen them before!

As you can see, the interface is  extremely user-friendly and familiar for the iPhone. Just spin the wheel and tap your selection. There’s even a countdown clock to the broadcast!

In addition, there are up to the minute photo galleries from the night of and past events,  plus you can watch the exclusive “Backstage Live” show, or catch up on the Awards themselves – all in the palm of your hand, on the go.

You can even connect, live, to the Academy’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages to receive up to date news and information about Television Academy events through these feeds during and after the event.

Make sure to check  the app out. It’s a lot of fun and its the perfect tool for trivia games, contests at Emmy parties, or just fun at home.

Last, but definitely not least, we’d love it if you took a minute to check out our friends and collaborators, Black Tree TV. We think you’re going to be hearing quite a bit from them in the very near future. Devious Media brought Black Tree TV to the Television Academy and assisted Black Tree in acquiring red carpet access for the first time. Black Tree TV gets 400,000 views a day on YouTube and climbing.

Soon, Black Tree TV will embark on a comprehensive re-branding as the Entertainment Tonight, for the African-American audience on all platforms.

They’ll be on the red carpet Sunday night providing coverage, live, before the Awards telecast. Don’t miss them! You can follow Black Tree TV  at their YouTube channel, on Facebook, follow them on Twitter, and check them out on MySpace.

Wow! Lots of news, huh?

Hopefully now, you can tell why we’re excited for Sunday night and the Emmy Awards telecast. We’re pretty grateful  to work with some excellent collaborators while doing quality, forward thinking work – all in the name of the biggest night in the television industry.

So, please, join us in checking out TVplus, the awesome iPhone app, and our friends at Black Tree TV as they hit the red carpet live on Sunday night, for the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Telecast.

We’ll see you there, online, or both!

The app looks terrific, but I’d love to see some Android support, both phone and tablet!

Thanks Bill! We built the app on an extremely tight budget in under 3 weeks. We hope to have an Android and tablet version for next year.
